Check your current visa – assess what to apply – choose what to do: 

BVK holder (This is the free waiver that is sometimes called free visa or free exemption visa)  

  1. Leave Indonesia by 11 August or NEW!  apply for a visit visa  
  2. When applying for visit visa the sponsor must do so online (https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/and apply for a telex with the Director General of Immigration first dan then join expat to go to Immigration Office. 
  3. Make an online appointment with Immigration Office first, unless your local office still has a walk-in option. 
  4. Bring passport and proof of stay (eg. hotel, villa, friends, banjar domicile letter), which can be checked by Immigration. 
  5. You must have an extension by 11 August or leave to prevent overstay fines and possible other measures.

VOA holder (also called Visa on Arrival or Index B213 visa) 

  1. Apply for a visit visa single entry (also called social visa, an ITK or index B211). 
  2. When applying for visit visa the sponsor must do so online (https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/) and apply for a telex with the Director General of Immigration first and then join expat to go to Immigration Office. 
  3. Bring telex, passport and proof of stay (eg. hotel, villa, friends, banjar domicile letter). If possible, bring a sponsor letter as some Immigration offices demand it. Increases the chance of application approval. 
  4. You must have an extension by 11 August or leave to prevent overstay fines and other Immigration measures.

 APEC/ABTC card holder this is NEW 

  1. Apply for an Emergency Stay Permit (ITKT), valid for 30 days, extendable as long as Pandemic lasts or apply for a VOA (Visa on Arrival) 
  2. Go to a local Immigration office. Make an online appointment first unless your local office still has a walk-in option.  
  3. Depending on Immigration Office the following documents are needed: 
    • Sponsorship letter from Indonesian Company 
    • Copy of sponsor ID card (Bali ID card) sponsor has to be a part of the company 
    • Guarantee letter 
    • Original passport and copy of identity page, visa and arrival stamp page 
    • NPWP (Tax registration), TDP, and SIUP (Company registration) 
    • Copy of ABTC card 
    •  proof of stay (hotel, villa, friends, banjar domicile letter 
  4. Go before 11 August or leave. Prevent overstay fines and other Immigration measures.

 

Visit Visa multiple entry holder (also called business visa or D212 visa or ITK holder) 

  1. If still valid, apply for normal 60-day extension  
  2. Bring a new letter from your original sponsor. 
  3. When applying for visit visa the sponsor must do so online (https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/) and apply for a telex with the Director General of Immigration first and then join expat to go to Immigration Office. 
  4. No need to leave Indonesia. 
  5. NEW! If already expired, then 30 days extensions can be granted till end of Covid -19 pandemic period 
  6. NEW! and not yet tried, but if eligible, Immigration converts D212 to ITAS, subject to eligibility (work permit kitas, investor kitas, spouse kitas etc.)

 

Visit Visa single entry holder (also called social visa or B211 visa or ITK holder) 

  1. If you have extension left (so not all 4 extensions used) these extensions will be used first 
  2. If already expired, then 30 days extension can be granted until the end of Covid -19 pandemic period 
  3. If eligible can convert to ITAS, if eligible so according to normal rules (like married to WNI spouse or have a regular job).   
  4. When applying for visit visa the sponsor must do so online (https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/) and apply for a telex with the Director General of Immigration first and then join expat to go to Immigration Office. 
  5. Bring passport, copy of old visa and arrival stamps and new sponsor letter plus KTP from original sponsor. 
  6. No need to leave Indonesia. 
  7. Go before 12 August or leave by August 1. Prevent overstay fines and other Immigration measures.
     

ITAS / ITAP holder (also called stay permit, temporary or permanent, KITAS, KITAP) 

  1. If it is a normal extension on original date, follow normal procedures as before the pandemic. 
  2. If ITAS/ITAP already expired, apply for new one according to normal rules. 
  3. No need to leave Indonesia, bring telex visa to Immigration office after all dues are paid. 
  4. When converting B211 social visa, apply through visa-online before going to Immigration Office 
  5. If ITAS/ITAP already expired: 
      1. and cannot be extended under normal rules, obtain your Exit Permit (EPO) and leave before 11 August to prevent overstay fines and other Immigration measures (deportation) 
      2. but found new sponsor (eg. employer, spouse, new school) convert at local Immigration Office. No need to leave Indonesia. 
      3. NEW! Convert to visit visa and do it nowDon’t wait till August 11:
        1. When applying for visit visa the sponsor must do so online (https://visa-online.imigrasi.go.id/) and apply for a telex with the Director General of Immigration first .
        2. After telex received sponsor then join expat to go to Immigration Office. 
        3. Bring passport, telex, and proof of stay (eg. hotel, villa, friendsbanjar domicile letter), which can be checked by Immigration.
