Stay Permit (KITAP)

You can get a KITAP, when you are:

  1. Married to an Indonesian spouse for more then two years
  2. Already possessing a Itas and working as a director / commissioner for a company more then 3 years
  3. Possessing a retirment Itas for more than 3 years
  4. A former Indonesian citizen and already possessing an Itas

Detailed Description of ITAS / KITAP process based on a marriage with a WNI

Be advised that before one can apply for a KITAP, one must possess or apply for an ITAS first. The process a KITAP will only take 4 -6 weeks from the moment the application has been submitted. For the required Civil registrations (STM, KTP and KK), a further 2-3 weeks are needed after you received the KITAP.

It is also important to realize that submitting an application is only possible, once all required documents (as mentioned below) are gathered and valid:

Required documents for the KITAP based on a marriage with an Indonesian spouse:

  1. The applicant’s passport (18 months valid and at least three empty pages)
  2. The KTP and KK of the applicant’s spouse, which must have the same address as the LOD (see under 4)
  3. The marriage documents. The ‘buku nika’ if Muslim, with registration with the KUA and Embassy. If not Muslim and/or you are married abroad, the marriage certificate from the local City hall (abroad and here!) and the registration and legalization with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Indonesian Embassy abroad.

  4. Letter of Domicile, it is a must now that the KTP shows the same address as the KTP of the wife, (we can assist with the letters from the local head of RT and RW, but usually the WNI spouse knows the way. Just in case.
  5. If it concerns an extension, the current ITAS or KITAP, SKTT and STM (or KTP/KK when already possess a KITAP.
  6. Sponsor letters, request letters, powers of attorney. Your consultant willl draft all these letters and send them to you to sign on a materai.
  7. The application forms from the Immigration Office. Your consultant will obtain them and fill them out for you.

Below a general overview of the KITAP process, (which for a big part can be followed online):

Step by step overview:

  1. Gather all relevant documents (see overview above of documents needed), arrange correct ones when needed
  2. Draw SPO’s and POA’s and have them signed by client/sponsor
  3. Arrange date for submission application ITAS / KITAP with client at Kanim
  4. Submit application and all relevant attachments at Kanim
  5. Arrange bio data session at local Kanim
  6. Arrange address check and interview with Wasdakim (controlling department of Immigration), usually within one week after submission of application
  7. Monitor the letters of no objections (lono’s) of the local Immigration Office (Kanim) amd regional Immigration office (Kanwil) and the decision of the Director-General of Immigration, to keep control of a smoother handling
  8. Monitor issuance of the KITAP and passport at Kanim
  9. Submit application STM
  10. Pick up STM and deliver to client
  11. Submit application KTP and KK
  12. Arrange bio data session KTP at City Hall (to go with client)
  13. Pick up KTP and KK and deliver to client

KITAP sponsored by the company:
The process for a director / commissioner working more than 3 years for a company and who obtained his 4th ITAS, is about the same. Instead of marriage documents the basic company documents are needed.

Cost of the process:
The costs are also quite clear as there are two options:

  • IDR 35.000.000 for KITAP
  • IDR 40.000.000 for a KITAP for Life

Be advised that our prices cover the whole process, so not just the KITAP. After the KITAP has been obtained, you also need to apply for the civil registrations as STM, KTP and KK. And before we even submit the application, we also do the assessment of all the documents needed to submit a successful application.
