New law /regulation regarding the new pandemic wave and the possible closure of borders and travel restrictions

It is now possible to provide an extension of ITAS/ITAP and/or Re-Entry Permit (IMK) to Foreigners who are still abroad whose residence permit will expire, through an application submitted by the guarantor / person in charge (PIC) to the Immigration Office electronically or manually by fulfilling the following conditions :

1.  The guarantor attaches a photocopy of the passport;
2.  Completing the application without going through the biometric collection process with the approval of the Director General of Immigration; and
3. Require the guarantor/person in charge to report the arrival of the Foreigner to the Immigration Office no later than 30 (thirty) days from the date of arrival to carry out the ITAS/ITAP and/or IMK calibration.

So one can start and extend the KITAP or ITAS of an expat now, even when they are abroad. They get the extension and can complete the bio data session only when they can travel to Indonesia safely again.
